"Our greatest obligation to our children is to prepare them to understand and to deal effectively with the world in which they will live and not with the world we have known or the world we would prefer to have."-- Grayson Kirk (1903-1997), Educator
"one dynamic network for the common good"
"Develop a free and self-sustaining digital network of systems, tools and resources to respond to the growing financial and systemic crisis in education."
We cannot depend on the government to provide adequate funding for schools. The government funding shortfall is difficult to assess unless we examine all the factors that impact education. Some of the factors include, but are not limited to, the sheer volume of students, the cost of building and maintenance, and personnel.
Many schools are experiencing funding shortfalls that results in cutting a variety educational programs. Some programs, such as art and design, are key elements in any culture. Taking the cultural arts out of our schools will diminish our culture over time and likely that of the entire world.
In an effort to help address the funding shortfalls in schools, we created Serving Education, Inc. as a Missouri-based nonprofit. The goal is to develop a network of systems, tools and resources for educational purposes. We refer to that network as “one dynamic network for the common good”™. There are no limitations on age groups, ethnicity and or nationality. We refer to the project as Designing the Future.
